Welcome to MME Jamroom! Well, you're probably wondering what this JamRoom thing is. JamRoom is a piece of web management software that allows MME to offer web sites, with management, to you, the Artist or your band! I've set it up here basically "out of the box", so that you can take a look and see how it works. If you log in using the user name "demo", password "demo", you can see what you can do as an Artist using the "Sample Artist" account. You can select different templates for your web site. You can upload and download images and audio files, post messages, and even have items for sale that will be tallied and the details and user sent to PayPal for payment arrangements. You can even upload your Indi songs and create radio stations, and now even videos and MME TV! Go ahead, blow things away, upload your own test stuff. This is just a test instance that we can reload if anything gets too crazy. And of course, if I see some stuff that's inappropriate I'll remove it. But for now, take it for a test drive. The basic layout is this: JamRoom provides a framework for managing multiple artist web presence sites. Within the framework of the site itself, we can have users that are assigned to manage the site(s). You could have several users on one site, or several sites managed by the same users. Each site has a page (or pages) where you can upload pictures/images, audio files, post blog messages, enter events on a calendar, etc. The site can be tagged with a URL that is specific to your name, if you want. So, MME is looking at supporting you and/or your band using something like JamRoom, which we'll customize as necessary. What do you think? I've got a discussion forum back on MME for this, too. A note about Flash-based sites... I don't recommend flash-based websites if you want your site's content to be found and indexed using search engines. Search engines can't read flash content. I know they are cool and they are flashy and you want that kind of multi-media experience, and that's fine. We can do flash here if you'd like. But it's about exposure, right? SO why not create a site whose content can be read and indexed by the search engines that people use to find you and your music? Of course, I'd love to discuss it with you more, and we can set up flash-based sites if you really want one. Contact me here or better, through my consultant site, http://www.HiddenGemTech.com/ . |
