I guess one of my recent updates to the site broke the registration process. Thanks to Damien for telling me today. I traced it down and fixed it tonight. Looks like the update removed some necessary fields for the Google Maps part of the profile in the registration process. We should be all set now, so if you tried to register earlier and it failed, please try again.

Remember, the system will notify us AFTER you get your confirmation email AND you click the confirmation link in that, and then an admin will need to confirm your account and then you will be in!

Did I mention it's all free???

How to change your email address on MME PDF Print E-mail

We're now seeing a slew of changes with the latest migrations where FairPoint is taking over the old Verizon systems. These include new email addresses for former Verizon Internet customers. So, how do you change your email address here on MME? Well, it's easy.

First, log into your account. (If you can't recall your account and/or password, send me a note via the Contact Us page with any info you can give me to find your account and I'll check it and get back to you.) Once you're logged into the site, the User Menu appears below the Main Menu on the left of the screen. Choose the "Account Details" selection, which takes you to your Profile. Click the "Edit" tab at the top, selecting the "Update your profile" choice. On the next screen, click the "Contact Info" tab, and change your email address in the appropriate field, then click Update on the bottom. That's it!

Please make sure this new address is working! The site will send you a note to confirm it to make sure we've got a correct address, and if not confirmed, your account may be locked out. If this happens, contact me, again, through the Contact Us page.  Remember, we always keep your email address private to reduce the chance of spammers gathering it from the web site.  We'll never sell or give it to others unless required by law.

And believe me, I know what a pain it is to have to change email addresses, etc. So we try to keep it pretty simple here!

I took some time to go through the Links to other sites and clean up the bad ones. If your site was listed and is not listed any longer, contact me about it - I removed any site that did not display correctly or were no longer active. Some are active, but are not displaying pages correctly.

If you haven't listed your site here, log in today and submit your link!

Begging For Help! PDF Print E-mail

Wow, things are really slow these days. Mostly because I personally have little time to check out other bands and clubs and such other than to run the back end web site itself. I'm guessing we are all in the same boat these days. I'm going to have to ask - no, BEG - anyone out there that likes to write - PLEASE - help MME out any way you can.

I'm getting the odd email of events here and there, but of course the web site is self-service so any member can post events to the calendar. I'm hoping a few people around the state are still interested in contributing some articles from time to time, and that I can find them! How about it? Next time you go to a club and see a band, why don't you drop me a line via email and tell me what you liked or disliked about the band, the club, whatever?  Snap a picture, even, and post it with some details.

You don't have to be a critic - you don't have to be a writer - we'll clean up your spelling mistakes and grammar (that's what editing is for) and even hide your name (publish under a pseudonym if you like). I wish I was made of money and I could afford to pay people for their writing, but the reality is MME runs on a shoestring that is funded by me personally, and even though it is non-profit, I'm not a grant writer, advertising doesn't do much on a small site such as MME, nor are there many funding sources for such an endeavor as a musician's community.

So, I'm leaving it up to volunteers. Wouldn't you like to see your words up for all to read? Controversial or not, I just want to try to maintain a fairly PG-rated site for all to enjoy, and be a community for all musicians and artists and related careers in Maine.

Who knows? Maybe we could build something here that could take off and eventually grow to the point of paying for itself?  The site doesn't cost that much to run, so costs could probably be overcome fairly easily with some good support.  And of course, since it's non-profit, that means everyone would benefit.  Might even mean we could start paying for articles!

Please help! I'm beggin ya!
